Science East’s time at the former York County Jail has come to an end. For 25 years this fascinating historic site was our home where we grew as an organization, became a leading family attraction in New Brunswick and earned national recognition as a leader in science education.
Since closing the Science Centre to the public in 2024, we have continued to deliver on our mission of providing quality, inquiry-based learning for students, meaningful and engaging workshops for teachers and professionals, as well as fun and educational activities for the public. We have been presenting to school classrooms and other groups across the province and in the past year we reached 28,000 people in French and English. We appreciate everyone who supports Science East, whether you have donated, volunteered, provided a testimonial, visited the Science Centre, invited us to your school or event or supported us in countless other ways, we are truly grateful for your partnership.
The sale of our property and move to a temporary downtown location is allowing us to jumpstart the next stage of our end goal: a new permanent Science East Science Centre that is modern, sustainable, enriching and fun. Throughout this transition we will continue to visit classrooms and other groups with our STEM education experiences. Science East strives to inspire all learners with the wonders of science, and we want to continue to do so for years to come. Please visit our website or contact us directly to find out how you can help us make science accessible, inspiring and fun for all.
